Bicycle Film Festival rolls into Houston

The Ninth Annual Bicycle Film Festival Makes Its Debut in Houston
For Two Days of Two-Wheeled Fun: December 4th-5th

Houston, TX (December 2009)--This month, The Bicycle Film Festival, presented by 42BELOW; produced in part by Reprogram Music Multimedia, makes its debut in Houston to present a cultural phenomenon like no other, December 4th-5th. Originating in New York City, the festival adds Houston to its roster of 39 cities, lending its voice to the most powerful and culturally relevant movement of the past decade: the urban bike movement. The BFF brings together many creative communities, including fashion, music and art as well as various bicycling communities—fixed gear, mountain biking, and road racing—over a shared passion for bike riding.

The Houston Bicycle Film Festival kicks off on Friday, December 4th with Goldsprints. Goldsprints, a one-on-one roller sprint race with prizes from BFF and other sponsors for best male and female time, will take place at Mango’s located at 403 Westheimer Road. DJs Mr Castillo & DJ Paramour will be supplying the music.

On Saturday December 5th the festival will screen various short and feature films—reflecting the diverse experiences of bicyclists. Highlights from this year include Where Are You Go directed by Benny Zenga and Brian Vernor, Klunkerz directed by Billy Savage, and Anima D’Acciaio (Soul of Steel) directed by Daniel Leeb. All films will be shown at Super Happy Fun Land (3801 Polk Street) at 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm.

Directly following the films on Saturday we head over to Mango’s (403 Westheimer Road) for the official BFF Houston closing party. Please check the website, www.bicyclefilmfestival.com, for more information.
